A Living History Museum is meant to recreate historical settings and activities to give the visitors an interactive interpretation of history. Some museums often use live costumed performers and historical exhibits to simulate a past time period. The goal is to give you a sense of stepping back in time. If you have kids, they truly get into it, many even have costumes for rent or purchase so you can join in the fun.
The biggest and most popular museum is COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG in Virginia. This museum has many original and reconstructed buildings. Actors will show you what life was like in the largest colony of it’s time. The museum is located inside Colonial National Historic Park.
